Mission Statement:
Holy Family School provides the highest quality academic and spiritual education rooted in the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church.

Religious Affiliation and Emphasis
Holy Family School is an independent Catholic school which follows the religious guidelines and curriculum of the Archdiocese of Seattle. Formal religious classes are taught daily and students attend a prayer service and Mass at once a month. Because the Catholic religion is the philosophical foundation of the school, classes begin with morning prayer in the classroom conducted by the classroom teacher. Prayer before meals and at the end of the day is also part of school life. Religious education and faith formation is integrated throughout the school day. Faith in action is exemplified with the student principle of “We will try to live as Jesus would live and learn our lessons as best we can.” Faith in action is exemplified through service to others and the Church liturgical year is lived through the sacraments, scriptural readings, and other traditional devotions of the Church.

Governance
Holy Family School is governed by a Board of Trustees. The principal of the school is responsible for the daily operations and decisions within the policies established by the Board of Trustees. The principal is a non-voting exofficio
member of the Board of Trustees.

History
Holy Family School was begun in 1974 in a small house in Lacey. From these early beginnings, Holy Family School currently is located on a 3.5 acre campus with regular classrooms, a state certified science science lab, a fully equipped library, and a new state of the art computer lab.

Curriculum
Holy Family School follows the student learning expectations of the Archdiocese of Seattle as well as the EALRs (Essential Academic Learning Requirements) of the state of Washington. Formal classes consist of religion, math, spelling, English, reading, history, and science. Teaching specialists enhance the core curriculum in the disciplines of physical education, science lab, and computer education. A science lab compliments the formal teaching of science and all students will have a lab at least once a week. A fully equipped library is available for all students. Class sizes are small.

Accreditation
Holy Family School is fully accredited by the state of Washington.the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA). The Northwest Accreditation Commission and Western Catholic Education Association accreditation are independent accreditation processes beyond state certification. All teachers are fully credentialed by the state of Washington and the Office of Public Instruction. Many teachers hold advanced degrees. Holy Family School is also a member of National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and WFIS (Washington Federation of Independent Schools.)
