Standardized Tests & WASL (PDF)
All 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders take the state recommended Washington Assessment of
Student Learning. Our 2nd grade students take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills. According to our
test scores, Holy Family students perform at least two grade levels above their current grade. In
other words, our 2nd grade students do 3rd grade level work. This is not a new trend. Our
students have been performing at this consistent level of excellence for the past 25 years! Our
curriculum is designed to enhance student performance on both the ITBS and WASL. The
WASL was taken in the spring of each year and the results released to schools in September.
Beginning in the spring of 2010, Holy Family students will take the new state test—
Measurement of Student Performance (MSP). MSP results will be released in September, 2010.
