On Friday, January 22, we remember the Day of Prayer for the Legal Protection of Unborn Children. I still remember one year when I taught 7th grade, one mom wanted to meet with me. Her son had been acting up and having some behavior issues in class. We started chatting, but then she broke into tears. “I feel like I’ve spoiled my son too much and maybe that’s why he acts up, but I just love him so much because when I was seven months pregnant with him, he almost died and they had to deliver him in order for him to live! He was such a tiny baby and had to live in the Intensive Care Unit for months!” Her baby boy had grown to be a healthy, strong, typical twelve year old that was going through adolescence, but she had long carried the fear of losing him. Give Thanks to God for the Gift of Human Life!
