After reviewing the results from the poll, it looks like there are quite a few students interested in dance. Because of this, we are splitting into two age groups: K-3rd, and 4th-5th. The K–3rd grade group will be having practice on Tuesdays after school until 4:30pm. 4th-5th graders will be doing a dance clinic during their lunch recess on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This will be a shorter, 30-minute practice where we will learn the basics and work on a routine to perform at the recital at the end of January. For 4th-5th grade, they may not have time to change into different clothes before practice so we will not be doing anything too strenuous, but I do ask that they at least bring the appropriate shoes for that day! If your child has ballet or jazz shoes, please bring them. If they don’t, there is no need to go out and buy them! We will make the most of what we have. I do ask that if your child is doing hip-hop that they bring a clean pair of sneakers to wear, so we don’t get the floor super dirty. The first day of practice for everyone is this upcoming Tuesday, November 1st! See you on the dance floor! – Mrs. Emily Cote |
